Dividend Yield

Dividend yield is measuring how much cash flow you are getting for each rupee invested in an stock position.

It is calculated by adding annual dividend per share ÷ Market value per share.

Suppose ABC company pays dividend of Rs 4 each quarter and current market price is 500 then dividend yield ratio = 4*4/500 = 3.2.
